Disable system reserved storage in Windows 10 21H2 and Windows 11?
In this you will learn how to disable system reserved storage in Windows 10 21H2 and Windows 11.
What is system reserved storage?
Windows 10 works best if you have more disk space and low disk space is not optimal to run the Windows 10. Microsoft has always allowed users to run Windows 10 on devices with less storage space, but in May 2019 Update, Microsoft introduced ‘Reserved Storage’, which reserves a part of the disk for updates and drivers.
If you clean install Windows 10 or buy a PC with May 2019 Update or above, your device will have “Reserved Storage”, which could occupy 10GB or more of the total disk space.
The “Reserved Storage” is a amount of space that has been pre-occupied by Windows 10 for additional system files. Reserved Storage is not a system partition and it could be disabled by editing Windows Registry.
But if you incorrectly edit or delete a protected key, it can make your system unstable.
With Windows 10 version 2004, Microsoft is made easier for users to manage Reserved Storage. Windows 10 v2004 includes DISM options for Reserved Storage, which allows you to disable it on your devices
